Firefighters of the Sacred Heart

Inspired by the words of our Lady of Fatima and zeal for the salvation of souls we can all offer our prayers and sacrifices in union with Jesus and Mary for the purpose of assisting them rescue souls.

Pray, pray a great deal, and make sacrifices for sinners, for many souls go to Hell, because they have no-one to make sacrifices and pray for them. Our Lady of Fatima

We can act as spiritual firefighters and offer prayer, penance and sacrifice to implore mercy and grace from the eternal Father for the holy intentions of Jesus and Mary and to : -

  • facilitate the conversion of our families and loved ones

  • aid the suffering and dying of those in our parishes

  •   rescue those souls in danger of falling into the fires of hell
  •   aid the relief and release of the Holy souls in Purgatory

This is really our purpose in this life, to obtain union with Jesus through intimate union with Mary's holy and Immaculate Heart that we may pour out ourselves for others in imitation of Christ for the love of God and for His greater glory and offer in union with the sufferings of Jesus and Mary to our eternal Heavenly Father.

What joy you will bring to the hearts of Jesus and Mary and what great graces you will draw down upon yourselves and your families.

Why Firefighters?

There is a definite spritual parallel between the roles of our earthly firefighters and our apostolate. See role of firefighter below.

Meaning of the Logo

The logo shows the Sacred Heart of Jesus, representing the immense outpouring of love that Jesus our Redeemer has for us, desiring that all men be saved.

FFSH stands for Firefighters of the Sacred Heart. The cross represents the extent of His love shown for us by His sacred passion and death for our salvation. The bar under the cross represents the Earth. (symbol given us by our blessed Lady to St Catherine Laboure in the miraculous medal) the M stands for Mary and her true devotion and union with Jesus but also to that of her earthly children.

The flame is Mary's Flame of Love, which is Jesus himself, as revealed by our Blessed Lady to Elizabeth Kindelmann. The three tongues of fire in the flame represent the Blessed Trinity and specifically Mary as Daughter of God the Father, Mother of God the Son and Spouse of the Holy Spirit.

What we can all do to help Jesus and Mary rescue souls

 BECOME A FIREFIGHTER OF THE SACRED HEART 

If you are worried about family or friends or someone who has died recently or urgently needs spiritually rescued, become a Firefighter of the Sacred Heart. This apostolate is aimed at imploring mercy and grace from heaven to save souls.  

Role of a Firefighter

A Firefighter decides your fate in the fire 

  • First responder and rescuer, trained extensively in firefighting
  • To prevent and control fires
  • Save people from danger
  • Assist with hazardous materials, medical emergencies, road traffic incidents, floods,
  • Prevention -  Work within the local communities, fit smoke alarms, support businesses with fire prevention and assist and support the police to keep  roads collision-free.

Spiritual Parallels

First responder and rescuer

Life of prayer, penance and sacrifice united to Jesus and Mary for sinners, offered to the Eternal Father to rescue souls from the fires of Purgatory and Hell.

Rescue people from danger

Save souls from falling into hell and aiding the release of holy souls from the fires of purgatory by offering prayer, penance and sacrifice

Prevent and control fires

Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary Practice the virtues and seek Christian perfection Assist souls with knowledge of how to live a holy life united to Jesus and Mary and to keep out of sin  

Assist and Teach

Assist souls with knowledge of sin and the causes of incidents on life's journey. Teach avoidance of all occasions of sin and to persevere in grace with perfect uniformity to the will of God Assist souls with knowledge of how to become a saint.

Become a Firefighter of the Sacred Heart.

Be the person that Christ wants you to be, that He made you to be. Become a spiritual firefighter and assist Jesus and Mary to rescue souls. Offer the Father with a generous heart in union with Mary and through Her Holy and Immaculate Heart, the complete sacrifice of your will united to the Divine Will of Jesus for his glory, for the Salvation of souls and for the relief and release of the holy souls in purgatory.

It is very simple to become a firefighter of the Sacred Heart. Here's how: -

Step 1 - Consecrate yourself to Jesus through Mary

Resolve daily to offer all your Mass intentions, prayers, penances, sacrifices, works, sufferings and sorrows in union with Jesus and Mary to the eternal Father to implore grace and mercy for all Jesus and Mary's holy intentions and for the Holy souls in purgatory  In humility, add your own holy intentions for your family, friends, others or those whom you have promised to pray for.

Step 2 - Strive for holiness and Christian perfection.

Learn how to become a saint and imitate them in your lives. Learn to do all your actions with, through, for and In Mary. This is the way of the little child, where everything is left with our Blessed Mother as taught by Saint Louis Marie de Montfort in True devotion to Mary. Our Blessed Mother with the aid of the Holy Spirit will teach us everything we need to know to obtain perfection and union with Christ. We will learn to love, to trust, to hope, to forgive, to bear all crosses with a childlike meekness and humility for love of God. We will learn to suffer with Jesus and Mary for the salvation of souls.  

The highest sanctity however is this: -

to offer the Heavenly Father in union with Mary and through Her Holy and Immaculate Heart the complete sacrifice of our will united to the Divine Will of Jesus for His glory, for the salvation of souls and for the relief and release of the holy souls in Purgatory. This means being disposed in perfect charity, with perfect obedience, trust and abandonment at each and every moment to all that God wills for us, just as Jesus' Human Will was pefectly conformed to His Divine Will on earth. To do so in union with Mary and to act thus is quite literally to become like Christ and to be transformed into the Divinty through super abundant grace.

 

Step 3 Step 1 and 2 is all that is needed here but for those who are able, perhaps consider: - inviting others to join your group If feasible, offer your services to the parish priest and request a prayer network be set-up to include all his holy intentions for the parish. (This could easily be done by setting up a WhatsApp group, where prayer intentions are posted out to members) 


 

How to become a saint

This is an easy question to ask but a more difficult one to answer. God leads souls in many different ways but If you read the lives of the saints, there is a similar thread that can be noticed in them all, their deep and profound love for God and their neighbour, cemented by an intense and fervent life of prayer and a willingness to suffer with Jesus for the salvation of souls.

The Secret is giving ourselves completely over to our Blessed Mother that she may obtain for us a perfect union with Her Divine Son Jesus.

Firstly, there are two fires that we must avoid on the road to perfection: 

  • The Fires of Hell
  • The Fires of Purgatory 

 

How to avoid the Fires of Hell

Some suggestions below of concrete actions we can take to keep us away from the eternal fires of Hell, this is certainly not exhaustive. Simply, we need grace, the grace of conversion, of repentance of perseverance

 Total Consecration to Jesus Through Mary, Avoid all occasions of mortal sin, Wear the Brown scapular, Recite the daily Rosary

How to avoid the Fires of Purgatory and become a Saint

Suggestions below which are not exhaustive on how to avoid the fires of purgatory and become a saint. We must ask God through our Blessed Lady to grant us this desire to make us saints, even great saints and continually pray that we may attain to Christian perfection and for all that we need.  

Mary our Blessed Mother is key and will greatly aid us achieve sanctified perfection if we give ourselves completely over to her that she may unite us to Her Divine Son through the action of the Holy Spirit.

Who will climb the mountain of God? who can ascend its steep slopes? This can only be achieved by much grace, immense patience, great suffering, and severe and prolonged tribulations. There is another way to reach the summit, a hidden way that is reserved for the little children. Become a little child and let Thy Most Holy Mother carry you up, safe in Her arms. Her ways are swift and sure, and She will not slip or fall. She has an in-depth knowledge of the terrain and knows the quickest route to take. She is not afraid of heights as She dwells in the highest echelons of heaven. Little children of Mary, in Her arms you will not only reach the top, but you will soar safely amongst the celestial clouds of Paradise.

Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength

Jesus answered, The first is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God, the Lord is one: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength. (Mark 12:29-30)

Let the thought and love of God be our first and last end in all that we say and do.

Love God with all your heart

We love God with all our Heart when there is nothing that takes up our affections more than God, when we are attached to nothing but the love of God and when we desire nothing but God himself. When our hearts are united to God in a living flame of eternal love, burning with an ardent fire that permits none but the Beloved.

The secret : Love God with all Mary's Heart Ask God through our Blessed Mother for this gift with humble persevering prayer and he will lovingly grant this to you, who greatly desires with an immense longing this union of hearts.

Love God with all your soul

We know we love God with all our soul when it takes its flight to the Beloved and cleaves tightly to He Who is all in all. The soul knows no other, desires no other, would be willing to suffer any torments for and lovingly die in the service of He who takes up all its affections and is its eternal repose.

The Secret: Love God with all Mary's soul Ask God through our Blessed Mother for this gift of  perfect charity with humble persevering prayer, and he will lovingly grant this to you, who greatly desires with  an immense longing  to unite your soul with the Divine Spirit.

 

Love God with all your mind

We love God with all our mind when nothing takes up our thoughts more than Him. When the distracted mind, wearied by the cares and duties of our state in life, longs to turn its thoughts back onto the Beloved, longs to rest in Him, Who is all delight; like a peaceful and gentle flowing stream.

The Secret: Think on Mary at every moment and she will fill your mind completely with the love of God and present your soul for espousals to Her Divine Son. Ask God through our Blessed Mother for this gift with humble persevering prayer and He will lovingly grant this to you, who greatly desires with an immense longing that your thoughts be as one with Him.

Love God with all your strength

We love God with all our strength when we purpose to turn from vain earthly musings and exert every energy in His loving service in all that we think say and do.

The Secret: If we lovingly give ourselves completely over to Mary She will supply for all weakness. Ask God through our Blessed Mother for this gift with humble persevering prayer and he will lovingly grant this to you, who greatly desires with an immense longing to pour out every grace and blessing upon you beyond what your capacity can endure.

When we can embrace God's Will as our very own then we have safely arrived at the Gates of Heaven.
